Item 8.01 Other Events.
On March 14, 2006, Advanta Corp. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors has approved an increase in the Company’s regular quarterly cash dividend beginning with the dividend paid in the second quarter of 2006. As a result of this increase, future quarterly dividends declared for its Class A Common Stock will increase from 11.34 cents to 21.25 cents per share and future quarterly dividends declared for its Class B Common Stock will increase from 13.61 cents to 25.50 cents per share. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
