Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

As of March 26, 2007, James M. Thorburn was elected a director of IXYS Corporation. The committee or committees of the board of directors that Mr. Thorburn will join have not been determined.

Mr. Thorburn most recently served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of ZiLOG , Inc. from January 2002 until August 2006. Prior to ZiLOG, Mr. Thorburn held various executive positions including Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of On Semiconductor, operating consultant with Texas Pacific Group, Chief Financial Officer at ZiLOG and management positions at National Semiconductor. Mr. Thorburn holds a BSc.(Hons.) degree from University of Glasgow and is qualified accountant with Chartered Institute of Managements Accountants in UK.
