On January 2, 2009, the Company sold substantially all of the remaining business of its former Life Companies Segment. The results of operations related to this business are reflected as Discontinued Operations for all time periods presented. Due to the use of weighted average shares outstanding when calculating earnings per common share, the sum of the quarterly per common share data may not equal the per common share data for the year.
