Related Party Disclosure	23. Related parties Shire considers that ArmaGen is a related party by virtue of Shire's equity stake in ArmaGen and the worldwide licensing and collaboration agreement between the two parties to develop and commercialize AGT-182 (see Note 16 for details). In the three and nine months to September 30, 2014 Shire paid $15 million in cash to ArmaGen in exchange for an equity stake in ArmaGen and the license to develop and commercialize AGT-182.

23. Related parties

Shire considers that ArmaGen is a related party by virtue of Shire's equity stake in ArmaGen and the worldwide licensing and collaboration agreement between the two parties to develop and commercialize AGT-182 (see Note 16 for details). In the three and nine months to September 30, 2014 Shire paid $15 million in cash to ArmaGen in exchange for an equity stake in ArmaGen and the license to develop and commercialize AGT-182.
