ADDERALL XR^® - Further Final Pretrial Conference Set For
March 10, 2006. No Trial Date Set.

Basingstoke, UK and Philadelphia, US – December 12, 2005 -- Shire plc (LSE: SHP, NASDAQ: SHPGY, TSX: SHQ) announces that in the pending New York litigation between Shire and Barr Laboratories, Inc. involving U.S. Patent Nos. 6,322,819 and 6,605,300, a final pretrial conference was held on December 9, 2005. The Court continued the final pretrial conference to March 10, 2006. The Court did not set a trial date.
