OTHER COSTS AND EXPENSES	OTHER COSTS AND EXPENSES Other, net is primarily comprised of intangible asset amortization expense (see Note F, Goodwill and Intangible Assets), currency-related gains or losses, environmental remediation expense, acquisition-related transaction and consulting costs, and certain pension gains or losses. Acquisition-related transaction and consulting costs of $30.2 million and $30.4 million were included in Other, net for the years ended December 28, 2019 and December 29, 2018, respectively. In addition, Other, net included a $77.7 million environmental remediation charge recorded in 2018 related to a settlement with the Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA"). Refer to Note S, Contingencies, for further discussion of the EPA settlement. Research and development costs, which are classified in SG&A, were $255.2 million, $275.8 million and $252.3 million for fiscal years 2019, 2018 and 2017, respectively.
