Item 8.01 Other Events.

Credit Card Fraud Control Corporation, a subsidiary of Acacia Research Corporation, entered into a settlement and license agreement with First Data Corporation. This agreement resolves patent litigation, Civil Action No. 3:14-cv-2619, pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division.
