Accounting for Suspended Exploratory Wells	Accounting for Suspended Exploratory WellsThe capitalized cost of suspended wells at June 30, 2020, was $2.5 billion, a net decrease of $587 million from year-end 2019. The decrease was primarily due to well write-offs recorded in second quarter 2020. During the six months ended June 30, 2020, $496 million of exploratory well costs previously capitalized for greater than one year at December 31, 2019, were charged to expense.
