Item 8.01 Other Events.

On July 11, 2007, the Apollo Group, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release regarding the expansion of its finance management team. The Company also announced that Brian Swartz, previously its Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, has agreed to serve in a full-time capacity as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
