Item 4.01. Changes in Registrant’s Certifying Accountant

 

As previously disclosed by Callon Petroleum Company (the “Company”) on its Form 8-K filed January 15, 2016, the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of the Company approved the engagement of Grant Thornton LLP (“GT”) on January 11, 2016 as the Company’s independent registered public accounting firm for the year ending December 31, 2016.  The Audit Committee made its decision in connection with its annual review of the Company’s independent registered public accounting firm and after soliciting proposals from several accounting firms. The engagement of GT became effective upon the filing of the Company’s Form 10-K for the 2015 fiscal year.
