ITEM 5.02.  DEPARTURE OF DIRECTORS OR PRINCIPAL OFFICERS; ELECTION OF
DIRECTORS; APPOINTMENT OF PRINCIPAL OFFICERS

On May 31, 2006, Mark D. Moreland, Interim Chief Financial Officer of
Movie Gallery, Inc. (the "Company") gave notice to the Company that he
would resign, effective June 15, 2006.  On June 1, 2006, the Company
appointed Thomas D. Johnson, Senior Vice President - Corporate Finance
and Business Development, as Interim Chief Financial Officer in
addition to his current responsibilities.

A copy of the press release announcing Mr. Moreland's resignation and
Mr. Johnson's interim appointment is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
