Subsequent Events [Text Block]	NOTE 15. SUBSEQUENT EVENT On November 13, 2013, the Company announced that it was in negotiations to sell its “Fiberstars” brand pool product lines. The sale is subject to the successful negotiation of terms satisfactory to both parties, completion of the potential buyer’s due diligence review, lender consent, entry into a definitive agreement and other conditions. There is no current binding obligation on either party and, accordingly, Energy Focus makes no assurance that the negotiations will lead to a transaction.

The entire disclosure for significant events or transactions that occurred after the balance sheet date through the date the financial statements were issued or the date the financial statements were available to be issued. Examples include: the sale of a capital stock issue, purchase of a business, settlement of litigation, catastrophic loss, significant foreign exchange rate changes, loans to insiders or affiliates, and transactions not in the ordinary course of business.
