Item 8.01. Other Events
Advocat Inc. today announced that it has terminated operations at its leased facility in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The owner of the property, a subsidiary of Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc., sold the property effective April 1, 2007. Advocat has terminated its operations at this facility and cooperated in an orderly transition to the new owner.
The facility had low occupancy and operated at a loss. The facility had been leased subject to a master lease covering 29 nursing centers. Under the terms of that lease, the master lease rental payment will not be reduced. This facility accounted for revenues of approximately $2.1 million in 2006. The lease termination is not expected to have a material impact on cash flows or results of operations. The Company will include the results for this facility in Discontinued Operations in future financial statements.
