        Due to unanticipated delays in the completion of the audit of the
accounts of the registrant's wholly-owned subsidiary, United Breweries
International, Limited (UK) ("UBIUK"), the registrant is unable to timely file
is Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2005,
without unreasonable effort or expense.

        The Registrant intends to file the subject annual Report on Form 10-K on
or before the fifteenth calendar day following the prescribed due date.
