Basis of Presentation
The accompanying condensed consolidated financial statements have been prepared in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (“GAAP”). Certain reclassifications have been made to prior period balances in order to conform to the current period presentation. Certain information and footnote disclosures normally included in financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP have been condensed, or omitted, pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”). In addition, the preparation of financial statements in conformity with GAAP requires management to make estimates and judgments that affect the amounts reported in the financial statements and accompanying notes. For TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (the “Company”), the accounting estimates requiring management’s most difficult and subjective judgments include revenue recognition, the valuation of inventory, the accounting for income taxes and the accounting for stock-based compensation. In the opinion of management, the condensed consolidated financial statements include all material adjustments, consisting only of normal, recurring adjustments, necessary for the fair presentation of the results of the interim periods presented. These condensed consolidated financial statements should be read in conjunction with the audited financial statements of the Company as of and for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2011, included in the Company’s 2011 Annual Report on Form 10-K filed with the SEC on February 27, 2012.
