(b) Effective as of April 29, 2009, Patricia Ann Walicke, M.D., Ph.D., resigned from her position of Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of OXiGENE, Inc. (the “Company”) to pursue her interests in neuroscience and immunology. The Company has initiated recruitment of a permanent replacement for Dr. Walicke, and has retained a consultant to advise the Company on an interim basis regarding its clinical trials and related matters.
     The Company intends to enter into a separation agreement with Dr. Walicke in connection with her departure. The terms of such agreement will be described in an amendment to this Form 8-K following execution of the agreement.
