14. Business Segment

The Company operates in a single segment engaged in the discovery, development, licensing, manufacturing, and sale of innovative medical therapies that improve the lives of patients with degenerative orthopedic diseases and traumatic conditions. The determination of a single segment is consistent with the financial information regularly reviewed by the Chief Executive Officer, who is the chief decision maker for the purposes of evaluating performance, allocating resources, setting incentive compensation targets, and planning and forecasting future periods.
