Robert O. Bratton was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Uwharrie Capital Corp (“the Registrant”) on October 22, 2008.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Bratton, age 60, served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer of FNB United and its bank subsidiary, First National Bank and Trust Company. Prior to FNB United, Mr. Bratton served for 25 years as chief financial officer of First Charter Corporation, a bank holding company based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
