On November 27, 2006, the Company announced that it intends to offer €400 million of a new issue of senior notes due 2017. Chesapeake intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay outstanding indebtedness under its revolving credit facility. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.

CHESAPEAKE ENERGY CORPORATION ANNOUNCES

OFFERING OF €400 MILLION OF SENIOR NOTES

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, NOVEMBER 27, 2006 – Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) today announced that it intends to commence a public offering of €400 million of a new issue of senior notes due 2017. Chesapeake intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay outstanding indebtedness under its revolving credit facility. The senior notes will be offered pursuant to an effective registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Chesapeake intends to list the notes on the Irish Stock Exchange for trading on its Alternative Securities Market.
