QUARTER FINANCIAL AND OPERATIONAL RESULTS RELEASE

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, OCTOBER 10, 2005 – Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) has scheduled its 2005 third quarter financial and operational results release to be issued after the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, October 31, 2005.
