Synthetic Biologics Announces Proposed Public Offering of Common Stock

 

 

Rockville, MD, December 11, 2013 – Synthetic Biologics, Inc. (NYSE MKT: SYN), a developer of product candidates focused on the prevention and treatment of serious infectious and other diseases, announced today that it intends to offer for sale shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. The Company intends to use the net proceeds from this offering for, among other things, increasing working capital, funding research and development, and capital expenditures. In addition, the Company may use a portion of the net proceeds for licensing or acquiring intellectual property to incorporate into its products and product candidates or its research and development programs. The Company may also use a portion of the net proceeds to in-license, acquire or invest in complementary businesses or products; however, it has no current commitments or obligations to do so. The offering is subject to market conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.
