Mine Safety – Reporting of Shutdowns and Patterns of Violations.
 
 
 
On December 22, 2014, Specialty Minerals Inc., a subsidiary of Minerals Technologies Inc., received an imminent danger order issued by the Mine Safety and Health Administration under section 107(a) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 at its Adams Mine in Adams, Massachusetts.  The order alleges that an operator was walking on an apron feeder for a dryer that was energized and moving forward during a cleaning operation.  The cleaning operation was stopped immediately and the operator was removed from the apron section.  No injuries occurred in connection with the cited incident.
