Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointments of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers
On November 3, 2022, Service Corporation International (“SCI” or the “Company”) announced that Gregory T. Sangalis, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, informed the Company of his intent to retire effective March 31, 2023.
Lori Spilde, age 52, Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of the Company will assume the role of Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in addition to her current responsibilities effective April 1, 2023 as a part of the Company’s succession planning process.
Ms. Spilde joined SCI in 2000 and for over 20 years has served in a variety of legal roles within the Company. She has led the Mergers & Acquisitions and Real Estate functions for the Legal Department for over 15 years and was instrumental in the antitrust regulatory approval processes with the FTC and state agencies for our Keystone, Palm, and Stewart acquisitions. More recently, she assumed added responsibilities for SEC filings, and the securities and corporate secretarial functions, working closely with our Board of Directors.
