The aggregate intrinsic value for stock options outstanding and exercisable, or fully vested, at December 31, 2017 in the table below represents the total pre-tax intrinsic value, which is calculated as the difference between the closing price of our common stock on the last trading day of 2017 and the exercise price, multiplied by the number of in-the-money options that would have been received by the option holders had all option holders exercised their options on December 31, 2017. The aggregate intrinsic value changes based on fluctuations in the fair market value per share of our common stock.
