(b) Mark Schwartz, currently a Vice Chairman of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (the Registrant) and Chairman of Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific, has determined to retire, effective December 31, 2016. He will continue to be affiliated with the Registrant as a senior director.
