Investment Securities

Our investment securities currently consist of short-term and long-term corporate bonds. Our investment securities are considered available-for-sale and are “investment grade” and carried at fair value. There have been no realized gains or losses on their disposal. Our available-for-sale securities are recorded at amortized cost, which approximates fair value, when material, unrealized gains and losses on available-for-sale securities, net of tax, are included in accumulated other comprehensive loss in the stockholders' equity section of our condensed consolidated balance sheets. The amortized cost of the debt securities are adjusted for the amortization of premiums computed under the effective interest method. Such amortization is included in investment income in other income on our condensed consolidated statements of income. The scheduled maturities of the debt securities are between 2018 and 2020. All short-term investment securities are all callable within one year.
