Item 8.01.    Other Events.

On May 17, 2024, D.R. Horton, Inc. (the “Company”) announced the passing of Donald R. Horton, the Company’s Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, which occurred the day before. On May 16, 2024, the Company’s Board of Directors appointed David V. Auld, the Company’s Executive Vice Chairman, to serve as Executive Chairman, effective immediately.

A copy of the Company’s press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
