THE DREYFUS FAMILY OF FUNDS 

Supplement to the Current Prospectuses 

     Dreyfus or the fund’s distributor may provide additional cash payments out of its own resources to financialintermediaries that sell shares of the fund or provide other services. Such payments are in addition to any sales charges, 12b-1 fees and/or shareholderservices fees paid by the fund. These additionalpayments may be made to intermedi -aries, includingaffiliates, that provideshareholder servicing, sub-administration, record-keeping and/or sub-transfer agency services, marketing support and/or access to sales meetings, sales representatives and managementrepresentatives of the financialintermediary. Cash compensation also may be paid to intermediaries for inclusion of the fund on a sales list, including a preferred or select sales list or in other sales programs. These payments sometimes are referred to as “revenue sharing.” In some cases, these payments may create an incentive for a financialintermediary or its employ -ees to recommend or sell shares of the fund to you. Please contact your financialrepresentative for details about any payments they or their firm may receive in connection with the sale of fund shares or the provision of services to the fund.

     From time to time, Dreyfus or the fund’s distributor also may provide cash or non-cash compensation to financialintermediaries or their representatives in the form of occasional gifts; occasional meals, tickets, or other entertainment; support for due diligence trips; educationalconference sponsorship; support for recognitionprograms; and other forms of cash or non-cash compensation permissible under broker-dealer regulations, as periodicallyamended.
