6. Inventories

The components of inventories are as follows:

As disclosed in Note 14, the Company executed a restructuring plan in May 2016 and wrote down inventory related to the SurgiBot System. The write down of inventory of $2.6 million is included in the accompanying consolidated statement of operations and comprehensive loss for the nine months ended September 30, 2016. There were no such write-downs for the three and nine month periods ended September 30, 2017.
