Effective September 1, 2012, Dr. Charles J. Filipi, the Chief Medical Officer and a co-founder of SafeStitch Medical, Inc. (the "Company") and the beneficial owner of approximately 2.8 million shares of the Company's common stock, agreed to forego his salary for the foreseeable future.
