(b) On July 7, 2010, Gail J. McGovern notified The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (the "Company") of her resignation from the Company’s Board of Directors, particularly in light of her responsibilities as President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross. Ms. McGovern will continue to serve as a director of the Company until the effective date of her resignation, July 31, 2010.
