ELBA, ALABAMA (JULY 23, 2007)...ON JULY 21, 2007 THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY GROUP, INC., DECLARED A QUARTERLY DIVIDEND OF $.225 PER SHARE. THIS REPRESENTS AN ANNUAL INDICATED DIVIDEND RATE OF $.90 PER SHARE. THIS CASH DIVIDEND IS PAYABLE ON AUGUST 31, 2007 TO SHAREHOLDERS OF RECORD AUGUST 6, 2007.
