The

Company has evaluated the effect of the following events that have occurred subsequent to the quarter ended

September 30, 2017

through the date of issuance of the accompanying condensed consolidated financial statements.

The

Bank received final regulatory approval and the merger of Far East National Bank into Cathay Bank was completed on

October 27, 2017. 

Each of the

nine

former FENB branches in California and its representative office in Beijing became a branch and representative office of Cathay Bank as a result of the merger.  As of the filing date of this report, Cathay Bank operates

43

branches in California,

12

branches in New York State,

three

in the Chicago, Illinois area,

three

in Washington State,

two

in Texas,

one

in Maryland,

one

in Massachusetts,

one

in Nevada,

one

in New Jersey,

one

in Hong Kong, and a representative office in Taipei, Shanghai, and Beijing.
