Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers

On November 6, 2006, Safeco announced that Charles Horne, Jr. resigned as Senior Vice President and Controller effective November 15, 2006 to pursue a new professional challenge. Ross Kari, our Chief Financial Officer, assumed the role of Chief Accounting Officer and Kris Hill has been appointed Vice President and Controller. Ms. Hill was previously Assistant Vice President and Assistant Controller of Safeco.
