Item 8.01 Other Events
     On October 8, 2007, AVANIR Pharmaceuticals (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the Company has reached agreement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) under the Special Protocol Assessment (“SPA”) process on the design of a single confirmatory Phase III clinical trial of Zenvia for the treatment of patients with pseudobulbar effect (“PBA”). The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
