     This Post-Effective Amendment relates to the Registration Statement on Form S-8, Registration Statement No. 33-48160 filed on May 26, 1992, as it pertains to the Common Stock of Community First Bankshares, Inc., associated with participations in the Community First Bankshares, Inc. 401(k) Retirement Plan.

     The undersigned Registrant hereby removes and withdraws from registration all securities of Community First Bankshares, Inc. registered pursuant to this Registration Statement which remain unsold.
