During the 2016 thirteen-week period, Landstar paid income taxes and interest of $209,000 and $913,000, respectively. During the 2015 thirteen-week period, Landstar paid income taxes and interest of $669,000 and $794,000, respectively. Landstar acquired operating property by entering into capital leases in the amount of $11,556,000 in the 2016 thirteen-week period. Landstar did not acquire any operating property by entering into capital leases in the 2015 thirteen-week period.
