(Nasdaq:APPB) has declared an annual dividend of 8 cents per share. The dividend is payable January 29, 2002, to shareholders of record as of December 26, 2001. This is the company's twelfth consecutive annual dividend and represents an increase of 9 percent over last year's dividend of 7 cents per share (adjusted for a three-for-two stock split in June 2001). Applebee's International, Inc., headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., currently develops, franchises and operates restaurants under the Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar brand, the largest casual dining concept in the world. There are currently 1,390 Applebee's restaurants operating system-wide in 49 states and eight international countries.
