Amounts paid are considered a prepaid expense, and are amortized over the term of the claim. During 2012 and 2011, TUSA paid $126,980 and $126,980, respectively, in federal mineral claim maintenance fees. The balance included in prepaid and other current assets for prepaid mineral claim maintenance fees at January 31, 2012 and 2011 was $74,072 and $74,894, respectively.
