On August 14, 2013, RLI Corp. announced that its Board of Directors approved a quarterly dividend on its common stock of $0.34 per share.  The dividend is payable on September 20, 2013, to shareholders of record as of August 30, 2013.  Furnished as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference is the press release issued by RLI Corp.

RLI Declares Dividend

PEORIA, ILLINOIS, August 14, 2013, RLI Corp. (NYSE:RLI) — The RLI Corp. board of directors has declared a third quarter regular cash dividend of $0.34 per share, the same amount as the prior quarter. The dividend is payable on September 20, 2013, to shareholders of record as of August 30, 2013.

RLI has paid dividends for 149 consecutive quarters and increased dividends in each of the last 38 years.

The company’s dividend yield would be 1.66%, based on the $1.36 indicated annual dividend and yesterday’s closing stock price of $82.08.
