On February 27, 2009, Walter Industries, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release providing additional information regarding its proposed spin-off and distribution of interests in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Walter Investment Management LLC, payable to holders of record of Walter Industries common stock as of the close of business on Feb. 27, 2009. Included in the press release, the Company published answers to several commonly asked questions regarding the transaction. A copy of the press release is incorporated by reference and attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
