(NYSE: MKG), a global healthcare company, today announced that they have received a second request for information from the Federal Trade Commission with respect to Tyco's proposed acquisition of Mallinckrodt. The second request focuses exclusively on the sales of endotracheal tubes. Tyco's total annual worldwide sales of endotracheal tubes are less than $20 million. Tyco and Mallinckrodt are working with the Federal Trade Commission to resolve the issues relating to these sales and are hopeful that the matter can be resolved in time to close the transaction by the end of September, as originally anticipated.
