ITEM  8.01.   Other Events.

On March 14, 2008, Imperial Sugar Company suspended powdered sugar operations at its Gramercy, Louisiana cane sugar refinery, and issued a press statement on March 17, 2008. Powdered sugar comprises approximately 7% of sales from the Gramercy refinery. Other sugar production at the refinery continues to operate.

The press statement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99 and is incorporated by reference herein.
