Item 8.01 – Other Events

On February 8, 2005 Imperial Sugar Company announced that the local union representing associates employed at its Louisiana facility ratified a new three-year contract extending through February 1, 2008. Definitive terms of the new agreement were not released, but both sides expressed satisfaction with the new contract.

Imperial Sugar, through a wholly owned subsidiary, operates a cane refinery plant in Gramercy, Louisiana. It employs approximately 190 affiliated associates in the plant, who are represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, AFL-CIO, Local #1167-P.
