                           TERMINATION OF REGISTRATION

     This Post-Effective Amendment No. 1 relates to the Registration Statement
("Registration Statement") on Form S-8 (Registration No. 333-92131) filed by
LabOne, Inc. (the "Company") with respect to the registration of shares of
common stock of the Company ("Common Stock") to be issued under the Company's
Stock Plan for Non-Employee Directors (the "Plan").

      The Plan has been terminated and no additional shares of Common Stock can
be issued or sold under the Plan. All shares of Common Stock previously
registered under the Registration Statement were issued by the Company under the
Plan. Accordingly, the Company hereby terminates the Registration Statement.
