The service cost component is included in Cost of Sales and Operating Expenses. All other components of net periodic benefit costs are included in Other Expense (Income), Net on the Company's Condensed Consolidated Statements of Income (Loss).
For the three months ended March 31, 2024 and March 31, 2023, the Company contributed $1.8 million and $1.5 million, respectively, to retirement plans. The Company expects to make total contributions of $17.8 million in 2024. The Company contributed a total of $8.3 million in 2023.
For the three months ended March 31, 2024 and March 31, 2023, the Company contributed $11.6 million and $6.2 million, respectively, to defined contribution plans.
