(12) Employee Benefit Plans

 

The components of net periodic benefit cost for pension and retiree medical plans were as follows:

The Company is required for the 2012 plan year, under IRS minimum funding standards, to make a contribution of $356 to its defined benefit pension plan by June 15, 2013.

 

The Company maintains a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan for certain employees, which provides for employer matching contributions, and a supplemental defined contribution plan for certain executives, which provides for employer contributions at the discretion of the Company. Amounts expensed for Company contributions under these plans during the first three months of fiscal 2012 and 2011 were $338 and $301, respectively.
