Pension and Postretirement Benefits

EOG has defined contribution pension plans in place for most of its employees in the United States, Trinidad and the United Kingdom, and a defined benefit pension plan covering certain of its employees in Trinidad. For the three months ended March 31, 2016 and 2015, EOG's total costs recognized for these pension plans were $9.2 million and $9.4 million, respectively. EOG also has postretirement medical and dental plans in place for eligible employees in the United States and Trinidad, the costs of which are not material.
