Effective Tax Rate	Note 9 – Effective Tax Rate The effective tax rate was 35.5% in the current year compared to 38.0% in the prior year and 35.3% in the current quarter compared to 38.0% in the same period prior year. The effective tax rate is lower primarily due to the tax treatment of certain other income items realized in the current period.

The effective tax rate was 35.5% in the current year compared to 38.0% in the prior year and 35.3% in the current quarter compared to 38.0% in the same period prior year. The effective tax rate is lower primarily due to the tax treatment of certain other income items realized in the current period.
