Income Taxes	(12) Income Taxes The company's effective tax rates were 36.1% and 38.0% for the first half of 2013 and 2012, respectively. The tax rate in the first six months of 2013 included a favorable income tax adjustment of $0.5 million pertaining to federal research and development tax credits.
